About Rebecca
What I have learned in my two decade career:
- Be honest with what you really want to have happen in your life.
- Make a plan to make it happen and follow the plan.
2005 | THE BACKSTORY
I am no overnight success story. My journey to launching my several businesses and brands and then becoming a strategic growth advisor is decades in the making.
My entrepreneurial career began in 2005 when at the age of 24 I launched my first company, CitiKitty, after dropping out of an MBA program.
With no business experience I had to learn how to run a business from the ground up, how to market products on limited budgets, how to brand a company for pennies and how to get people (and more importantly press) to talk about my products. I read books, lots of books. I began the important process of layering one piece of knowledge on top of another until I fumbled my way to success.
2010 | SHARK TANK CALLS
In 2010 I was contacted by a producer from ABC's Shark Tank to try out for the show. It sounded like fun.
After passionately pitching the benefits on cat toilet training on national television to millions, CitiKitty shot up and became a #1 seller on Amazon.com in the Home & Garden section. I knew then that what I really wanted to do was replicate this success again and again for other products.
2012 | I GROW
I figured something out in 2012. I had a simple professional goal, to create problem-solving products that consumers love. In 2012 after an investment in another quirky problem-solving product HoodiePillow I flew back out to LA to pitch on Shark Tank again. To date, I am the only entrepreneur to pitch two companies on the show.
2014 | I RETHINK IT ALL
CitiKitty's and HoodiePillow's successes have taught me many lessons. The most important of them being that when you invest your time and energy in what you love, success will follow.
In 2014 I hit the drawing board again and launched 3·Purpose and Top·Down Planner. Products that make peoples' lives easier and connect with my core values.
2015 | MAKING FUN PRODUCTS IS FUN
In the summer of 2015 I, alongside two fellow entrepreneurs saw a market need and captured it in a big way with our invention of Blankie Tails®, the first ever mass produced line of shaped blankets created for the enjoyment of children. The launch of Blankie Tails' mermaid and shark shaped blankets set off the advent of an entirely new line of product that is now sold around the world at major retailers.
2017 | CHECKING GOAL BOXES
Putting values first, 2017 proved to be the best time to sell my ownership in Blankie Tails®. In one transaction goal boxes were checked and college (x3) became paid for a full a decade early. Forward thinking serves goal achievement well.
2019 | A NEW LAUNCH
While enjoying a day on the beach a new idea came to me to combine scenes such as laying on a beach towel with babies crib sheets to help parents capture an irresistibly cute moments while their little ones slept. Meet Luvsy - nap time never looked sweeter. Oh — and Oprah loves them too.
2023 | BRANCHING OUT
After the COVID years of isolation I craved connection and something new after years of the same. Staying true to my values and sticking with problem-solving goods in the consumer space I connected with two of the most wonderful entrepreneurs looking for assistance in growing their brand of boob solutions. One thing led to another (as it always does) and the role of strategic advisor led to more as I assisted the business in rapid growth.
2024 | CO Ohhhhhhhhh I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS
A feeling continued to reverberate in me — what I truly loved about my two decade career aside from inventing new categories of products that make consumers lives easier is a singular area of work that has become my expertise — growth operations. Time and time again I took the businesses I created from zero to 10-100-500x nearly overnight all while remaining profitable. Turning a $700 investment into $150,000, turning $150,000 into $1M and then starting all over again and turning $10,000 into $5M.
And so when in 2024 I found myself standing before that great American Dream yet again, but this time helping others' achieve it, I signed right up.
